Privacy Policy

Sprachbau is operated by Shibby Ventures LLC and built on a simple principle: your data stays yours, and we collect as little as possible. This policy explains what Sprachbau — the website, the mobile app, and the server that supports them (collectively, the "Services") — collects and what we do, and don't do, with it.

1. The mobile app keeps your practice on your device

Your review history lives in a local database on your phone. Reviewing works entirely offline. The app has no advertising, no third-party trackers, and no behavioral analytics.

2. What the server stores

When you use an account, our server stores only:

• Your account — a user record and the access token(s) that authenticate you (stored as a hash, never in plaintext).
• Learning content — the sentences, cards, and packs generated for you.
• Your review log — which cards you reviewed and how you rated them, used to schedule future practice.
• Writing you submit for grading — the text you send, and the feedback returned.
• Standard server logs — basic request information (IP, user-agent, timestamps) retained briefly for security and debugging, not used to profile you.

We do not use analytics, advertising networks, third-party trackers, or social media pixels. The only cookie the website sets is the session/security token the framework requires.

3. AI grading and content generation

To generate practice sentences and grade your writing, the server sends the relevant text (allowed vocabulary and prompts for generation; your submission for grading) to our AI provider, Anthropic, via the Claude API, and receives structured feedback in return. We send only what is needed for that request. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to train models.

4. Data retention

We keep your account, content, and review history for as long as your account is active. You may ask us to delete your account and its data at any time (see "Your choices").

5. Data sharing and disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers needed to operate the Services (such as our AI provider and hosting provider), or where required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

6. Your choices

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by contacting us. Because reviews are stored on your device by the mobile app, uninstalling the app removes that local copy.

7. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the effective date above. Continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
